Add a broadcast chat to a community
Broadcast a chat in a corresponding community.
Before starting
Your Sametime client must be at least Sametime Advanced 8.0 and be enabled to use Broadcast tools or you cannot use this feature. If you are not sure whether you have this capability, check with your administrator.
About this task
You can broadcast a chat to a corresponding community to post a message for the community members.
Procedure
- In your Sametime Contacts list, expand the Broadcast Communities section.
- Click the name of a broadcast community to open a broadcast chat window.
- Enter your message.
- Click the Add chat to community forum icon to past the chat to the community discussion forum.
You must be a member of the community to post a broadcast chat. if you are not, you will see a message box with that information and given the opportunity to save the chat to a different community.
What to do next
You can open the community to view the chat file.
