Typical installation for the Managing Server on UNIX and Linux
The Managing Server requires WAS and a database environment (either IBM DB2 or Oracle). ITCAM for Application Diagnostics provides WAS and IBM DB2 software, so that you can install the Managing Server, WAS and IBM DB2 in one process.
This installation process installs:
- Version 7.1.0.1 of the Managing Server
- IBM DB2 Workgroup Server Edition 9.5 (for zLinux: IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition 9.5)
- WAS 7.0
Installation of either WAS 7.0 or IBM DB2 9.5 with the Managing Server is called an embedded installation.
