IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, Version 7.1.0.1

Notes about the installation - UNIX

Here is a list of notes about the installation:

Notes:

  1. These instructions are written as if you have downloaded the installation files from the IBM Web site. If you are installing the Managing Server from CD-ROMs, additional windows prompting you to insert the required CD-ROMs are displayed.

  2. The installer will create log files in the following directories:

    Location of installation log files

    Managing Server /var/ibm/tivoli/common/CYN/logs

A log.properties file will also be created under /etc/ibm/tivoli/common/cfg.

Embedded IBM DB2 Files in the format: /tmp/db2setup.*
    Embedded WAS

  3. If the installer detects an existing IBM DB2 environment on this server, you will not have the option to perform a Typical installation. To perform an embedded installation of IBM DB2 instead of use an existing database, you need to uninstall it from this server or choose another server to install the Managing Server on. You will then need to exit the installation.

  4. If installation of the Managing Server, embedded IBM DB2 or WAS fails during the installation, you will need to exit the installation and then rerun the installer. The installation program will automatically clean up the installation directories for the components whose installations have failed. If embedded IBM DB2 or WAS installations completed successfully, the installations will remain intact.

  5. The password created for all the DB2 users created during the installation is itcam610.

  6. There are three types of fields in the installer:

    • Prefilled, editable: you can either accept the default that is provided or enter your own value.

    • Blank: enter a value of your own.

    • Prefilled, noneditable: you cannot change the provided value. These fields will not be mentioned in the steps that follow.
