Post-installation tasks
Perform the following post-installation procedure:
- Restart the instance of IBM WAS to be used by the Managing Server.
- If you have installed a Web server, configure it to forward requests to the Managing Server by regenerating the Web server plug-in...
- Create a Web server definition. Follow the instructions at one of the following Web sites:
- In the IBM WAS administrative console, go to Server -> Web servers.
- Select the Web server check box.
- Click Generate Plug-in.
- Restart the Web server.
- If you performed a GUI installation and you did not select Launch the Managing Server and Launch the User Interface on the last step of the installation, start the Managing Server and the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server. See Start the Managing Server.
- If you performed a silent installation or upgrade, start the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server. If you did not enable the option to start the Managing Server, first start the Managing Server. See Start the Managing Server.
- Verify that the Managing Server components are enabled and running.
- Perform the tasks described in each of the following sections, if applicable.
- If Terminal Services is enabled on Windows 2000 or Windows 2008 Server, run the following command from a command prompt:
change user /execute
- Import transaction data from Managing Server to IBM Rational Performance Tester
- Enable Configuration Management Database Discovery Library integration and executing the feature
- Manually creating database tables
If during the Managing Server installation, the database tables fail to install, this is indicated by messages in the Managing Server installation summary panel. The summary information displays one of the following messages:- Configure Simplified Chinese as the browser language
- Set default browser resolution
- Network Deployment environment: verifying and updating the virtual host port number
