Verifying Managing Server components are up and running
Choose one of the following options to verify that the Managing Server components are enabled and running:
- (recommended) Verify that the Managing Server components are enabled and running in the Self-Diagnosis page of the ITCAM for Application Diagnostics Managing Server. In the online helps, see the section on viewing the Self-Diagnosis for the Kernel and the corresponding topics for the other Managing Server components.
- Use a command line:
- Open a command line prompt and navigate to MS_home/bin:

Windows
- Start > Programs > Windows Services for UNIX > Korn Shell
Do not use an already existing Korn shell. Instead open a new Korn shell window.
- Change to the C directory, then change to the MS_home/bin directory:
cd .cd ..cd MS_home/binFor example,cd /IBM/itcam/MS/bin"When changing to the MS_home/bin directory, if the file path that you specify contains spaces, place double-quotes around the path. Use forward instead of backward slashes in the path.
UNIX and Linux
- Open a command prompt.
- Go to the bin directory where the Managing Server is installed:
cd MS_home/bin
- Run the following commands for each Managing Server component:
./amctl.sh component ping./amctl.sh component status
