Installation Manager vs installer
Installation Manager refers to the full package. Installation Manager can record response files using either GUI or use console mode.
The installer allows you to install applications without having Installation Manager installed on the computer. You cannot record a response file using the installer.
You can use a combination of both. You can use the installer to install Installation Manager, and then use Installation Manager commands to record a response file to use during installations.
To run the installer...
IM_HOME/eclipse/tools/imcl
Starting in version 1.4.4, you cannot run commands from the installer tools directory if Installation Manager is installed.
In the installer download, the tools directory is located:
agent.installer.platform_version\tools
When the installer is packaged with the installation files for another product, the tools directory is located:
- product.offering.disk.platform_version/disk_platform/InstallerImage_platform/tools
