Importing monitor models from WebSphere Business Modeler as individual files
If you exported the monitor model from WebSphere Business Modeler as individual files, cut and paste the individual files or import them into a new project.
To import monitor model files from WebSphere Business Modeler:
Procedure
- Open the Business Monitoring perspective by clicking Window > Open Perspective > Business Monitoring.
- Create a new business monitoring project. For detailed information, see Create business monitoring projects.
- Right-click the new project and click Import > General > File system. Click Next.
- Click Browse to select the source directory that contains the files that you want to import. Select the MM (monitor model), MMEX (monitor model extension), and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) files.
- When you have finished specifying your import options, click Finish.
Results
When you open the new monitor model in the Monitor Model editor, you will see that a monitoring context has been created for each top-level process, loop, and subprocess that was imported. For more details, see Results of importing monitor models exported from WebSphere Business Modeler.
What to do next
If the monitor model was exported from WebSphere Business Modeler along with a Process Server application, using the IBM Integration Designer export option, the business measures are tied to the process and you can take advantage of the support available for keeping the monitor model synchronized with the process (see Synchronizing monitor models with applications located in the workspace.)
If the monitor model was exported using the IBM Business Monitor development toolkit export option and you separately exported a model from WebSphere Business Modeler to use as the basis for a Process Server application, you can complete the application in Integration Designer and then generate a monitor model (see Generate monitor models). The high-level monitor model exported from WebSphere Business Modeler and the low-level monitor model generated from the application can communicate through events (see Connecting low-level and high-level models). Alternatively, if you want to use a single monitor model, you can update the monitor model that was exported from WebSphere Business Modeler directly with inbound events from the Process Server application, by clicking New > Create from Application (see Adding application elements to monitor models).
