Assign people tab: Human Task editor

This topic includes a description of each of the fields on the Assign people tab of the Properties view. This tab is available when you select the People Assignment option.

People assignment criteria

Choose the criteria for a query from the list. This selection determines the group of people who share the same permissions and can, for example, claim the task.

The people assignment criteria that you see depends on the choice of people directory made on the human task preferences page.

You can choose from a list of predefined people assignment criteria definitions or you can define your own. See related topics for more information.

For parallel ownership tasks you must not choose Everybody, Nobody or Group for the People assignment criteria of the Potential Owners role. Doing so will lead to validation errors during deployment.

Test

Click Test to confirm that the people assignment criteria that you use in your human tasks will return the correct people by the people directory that you are using. This button is available for all people assignment criteria except Everybody and Nobody, when all mandatory fields have a value, and requires at least one running Process Server to be defined in Servers view.

If only one person qualifies, claim the task automatically

This check box is only available when the Potential Owners authorization role has been selected and ownership pattern is set to Single. Enable it in cases when your people assignment query returns a single person, and you want this specific user to be automatically assigned the task in question. When the check box is clear, the user will have the option of claiming the task.

For each qualifying person, claim the subtask automatically

This check box is only available when the Potential Owners authorization role has been selected and the ownership pattern is set to Parallel. Enable it in cases when you want the subtasks to be assigned to the intended owner automatically. When the check box is clear, the potential owners will have the option of claiming the subtasks.

Parameter table

Use this table to specify details like a group name and thus define the people that will be assigned by the selected criterion at run time. The value of the parameter can be changed by clicking into the value field and editing it, the Names are all predefined, and those that are mandatory will be marked with a "*". You can use content assist for some of the values if you see the icon of a light bulb appear when you click the field. Press Ctrl+Space to launch content assist.

You can also specify replacement variables, and use parts of the task input or output message as values for the parameters. See related topics for more information on replacement variables.
