Developing for Monitor dashboard spaces

IBM provides widgets in IBM Business Monitor. In addition, you can create your own custom widgets and integrate them within dashboard spaces to provide custom content for your business.

• Overview of widgets
  A widget is an application or dynamic content that can be placed into a page in a Monitor dashboard space.
• Migrating custom widgets
  When IBM Business Monitor upgrades to V8.0.1, you must migrate your custom IBM Business Monitor dashboard widgets to the prerequisites, specifications, and formats of IBM Business Monitor V8.0.1.
• Create widgets
  To create custom widgets, you create the files for the widgets, create a catalog file to register the widgets, and then package and deploy the widgets.
• Opening temporary pages using code
  

  You can code a widget to open a page from another Monitor dashboard space as a temporarily visible page. The page can have data relevant to the current space.

• Switching pages using code
  

  You can make the Monitor dashboard switch the page that a user can see.
