Remove the virtual host from the primary cluster member
In some ND topologies, administrators might remove the virtual host from the primary member of a cluster to ensure that all traffic goes through a web server. Configuring the Business Space component on a cluster restores the virtual host, and you might decide to remove the virtual host so that your environment works the same way that it was set up originally.
Business Space requires one cluster member to perform load operations for the initial startup of the server. If the primary cluster member does not have a virtual host, the Business Space configuration adds a virtual host to perform the initial load operations.
After you have configured Business Space on a cluster, check the WebSphere Application Server default_host list to see whether it contains a virtual host for the primary cluster member.
To remove access to the virtual host, complete one of the following actions.
Procedure
- Disable the virtual host for the primary cluster member after the initial startup of the cluster.
- Delete the virtual host for the primary cluster member using the administrative console (click Environment > Virtual Hosts > default_host > Host Aliases) or commands (see
Work with virtual host properties files in the WebSphere Application Server documentation).
