Configure an ND environment on Windows
For an ND configuration...
- Install the software
- Create or augment a dmgr
- Create or augment at least one custom profile
- Configure the ND environment
- Install IBM BPM Advanced
With custom installation, you can select interactive or silent installation. Select interactive installation to install on an existing WebSphere Application Server.- Grant write permission of files and directories to nonadministrative users for profile creation or augmentation
If you are not the user who installed the product, you must have write permission to selected directories within the IBM BPM installation. The product installer can grant this permission or create a group with permission to create or augment profiles.
- Create databases and database design files
IBM BPM requires a Process Server database, Performance Data Warehouse database, and Common database. You must create the databases before ND.- Configure the ND environment using configureNode.sh
To configure a typical ND environment, you can use configureNode.sh instead of using PMT and Deployment Environment wizard or the manageprofiles and wsadmin commands. This command provides limited customization by using a properties file, and creates a ready-to-use environment. You can also use configureNode later to extend the deployment environment.- Configure profiles and create an ND environment
After installing the product, create or augment a dmgr and one or more custom profiles to define the runtime environment. Before starting the dmgr, configure the databases to be used with IBM BPM.- Loading the database with system information in an ND environment
If you are creating an ND environment, run the command before you try to start or use Process Server or Process Center.
- Modify an existing installation
After install the runtime environment on your system in IBM BPM, you might want to customize your configuration. For example, you might want to customize settings, set up an additional security provider, set up user accounts, and change and encrypt passwords.
