Viewing activity details

Open a task activity directly from the process instance information to view specific activity details in a separate panel. Activity details include status, assignee, and the business process tokens.


Procedure

Complete the following steps to view activity details:

  1. Open a task activity, such as Schedule interview. (Tip: You can open a task activity by clicking the corresponding link from the process instance search result or from the process details area.) The activity details panel opens, displaying information similar to the following list:.

    • Business process design (BPD) name

    • Activity name

    • Process instance status (the execution state of the activity) such as New, Closed, or Received
    • Error information (when applicable)

    • Assignee name (the user that this task is assigned to)

    • Actions that can be taken, such as Retry or Escalate (See "Process Inspector task actions" for a list of actions and descriptions.)
    • Location list and related data, such as Location: Interviews and Data: employee name; department

    The Expand icon () next to an error message indicates there is additional information available (such as stack trace, location, date-time, and so forth).

  2. To view error details, click the Expand icon ().
    The Runtime Error Information window opens.

  3. After you review the error information, close the window.
  4. Under Actions, do one of the following:

    1. To restart the process instance activity, click Retry failed steps and then click OK when a confirmation message is displayed.

    2. To escalate the process instance activity, click Escalate, complete the given Escalate form, and then click OK.

    3. To pause execution, click Suspend and then click OK when a confirmation message is displayed.

    4. To open the data tree and run a script or service, click Edit data, click in the data tree to edit information, and click Save.
