Use the GUI to create profiles
Overview
Use the GUI provided by the Profile Management Tool plug-in to create profiles for WebSphere eXtreme Scale.
Before you begin
If you are running WebSphere Application Server v6.0.2 or WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment v6.0.2, use the wasprofile command to create or augment a profile for WebSphere eXtreme Scale as shown in the following example:
cd install_root/bin/ ./wasprofile.sh -create -profileName dmgr_01 -templatePath "/opt/WAS70/AppServer/profileTemplates/xs_augment/dmgr"To use the product features, the Profile Management Tool plug-in enables the GUI to assist you in setting up profiles, such as a WebSphere Application Server profile, a deployment manager profile, a cell profile, and a custom profile.
Procedure
Use the Profile Management Tool GUI to create profiles. Choose one of the following options to start the wizard:
- Select Profile Management Tool from the First steps console.
- Access the Profile Management Tool from the Start menu.
- Run cd install_root/bin/ProfileManagement
./pmt.shThe Action Selection page is displayed only if at least one profile and the augment templates exist.
What to do next
You can create additional profiles or augment existing profiles.
To restart the Profile Management tool..
cd install_root/bin/ProfileManagement
./pmt.sh...or select Profile Management Tool in the First steps console.
