Troubleshoot data collection problems with the symptom catalog

A symptom catalog is an XML file of symptoms and associated solutions used to analyze event and error messages that might be included in a log.

To troubleshoot problems with data collection using a symptom catalog:

  1. Add the data collection symptom catalog to the list of available catalogs:

    1. From the Window menu, select...

        Preferences | Profiling and Logging | Symptom Catalog Locations

    2. Select: Add URL

    3. Enter a name to identify the symptom catalog.

      For example: MyDCI

    4. In the URL field, type the following:

      ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/rationalsdp/rpa/60/symptomdb/symptomdb.xml

    5. Click OK to add this URL to the list of symptom catalog sources.

    6. Click OK to exit the Preferences dialog box.
