Overview

By inserting split points when recording you can divide a test into multiple parts.

Set up the annotation toolbar:

Verify annotation toolbar is installed before recording.


Split a test during recording

  1. Start recording the test.

    If the annotation toolbar is not installed, you are prompted to install it.

  2. Click the split point icon to insert a split point. The Split and Name Test window is displayed.

    • Click Enter Test Name, and then type a name for this section of the test.

      You are naming the previous section of the test, not the upcoming section of the test.

    • To ignore this section of the test, click...

        Ignore - Do not generate test

      You are ignoring the previous section of the test, not the upcoming section of the test.

    Repeat this step as needed to split tests.

  3. Close the browser when you are finished recording. The Test Name for Final Split window is displayed.

    • Type a Test Name for the final section of the test.

    • select Do Not Generate Test for Final Split To ignore the last section of the test.

    The Tests Created In This Session window is displayed. The names of the tests that you created while recording are listed.

  4. Click OK.
