Specifying custom color settings

The Eclipse workbench uses a color selection dialog box that the operating system provides. In Windows, the color selection dialog box does not respond properly to assistive technology. When you first open the dialog box, the focus is on one of the basic colors, but the dialog box provides no indication of this through assistive technology. You can use this dialog box to select colors in the workbench.

To select colors in the workbench using the Windows dialog box:

  1. In the Preferences window, select an item to customize.

For example, select General > Appearance > Colors and Fonts; then click Basic > Error text color.

  2. In the color selection dialog box, press Tab twice to move from the Basic colors matrix to the Define Custom Colors button and press Enter.

  3. Enter the basic color values using the HSL or RGB specification.
