Overview

If you are using Internet Explorer to record, you do not have to change these settings.

If you are using Mozilla or Firefox, you have to change the default browser.

If you are using a browser other than IE or Firefox, set "Application to record" below to None and configure your browser to use a socks proxy. Consult your browser documentation for information about proxy configuration.


HTTP recorder preference settings

After changing a setting, click Apply.

Application to record Browsers available for recording.

On Windows systems, the default is Internet Explorer. On Linux, the default is Firefox.

When you start recording, the browser is started and configured for recording. When you stop recording, the browser is reset for browsing.

You can select Mozilla and then set the path for the browser executable.

Application Path If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer, set the path for the browser executable.
Verify annotation toolbar is installed before recording Click to install the annotation toolbar. This enables you to add comments and transactions, and to change page names during recording, instead of editing the test after recording.
Proxy Recorder Local Port Type the listener port to use for HTTP recording.
Record using IPv6 By default, this box is unchecked. However, to use the IPv6 protocol while recording an HTTP test, check this box.
