Collect data from a development or test environment
You can collect response time breakdown data from a development or test environment in several ways:
- Collect response time breakdown data (profile) a running distributed Java EE application.
- Profile applications as they are exercised by automated testing tools.
- Profile a Web service component
- Profile non-Java EE Java applications, or applications in other languages supported by the ARM standard.
When you have collected the response time breakdown data, you can analyze it and diagnose the problem. You can examine the data using several views, including statistics views and sequence diagrams of class and object interactions.
