Integrating IBM Connections tags
We can integrate tags from IBM Connections Version 3.0.1.1 into the IBM WebSphere Portal tag cloud. The IBM Connections 3.0.1.1 Portlets are required to get full functionality.
- Prerequisites
- IBM Connections: Install the IBM Connections Portlets for IBM WebSphere Portal
- IBM Connections: Deploying the IBM Connections portlets
- Configure authentication
Portal requests data from the IBM Connections server via the IBM Connections search API. By default, access to public data is not secured. In case security is enabled for that application, authentication is required. We can use on of the following authentication methods: basic authentication and LTPA forwarding.- Configure task to retrieve tags
When you integrate IBM Connections with the portal server, the portal uses a task to retrieve tags and related resources from the various IBM Connections features (such as activities, blogs, bookmarks, communities, files, forums, profiles, and wikis). Then the portal integrates the tags in the portal tag cloud. We can schedule the task to retrieve the tags to run periodically.
IBM Connections tags will be available in theWebSphere Portal tag cloud after the next time the scheduled task runs to retrieve tags from the IBM Connections server.
