Set up the Common Mail portlet as a remote portlet
To set up the Common Mail portlet for remote use, set up two WebSphere Portal servers, the WSRP Producer and the WSRP Consumer.
To enable WSRP support for an instance of Common Mail to be used as a remote portlet, add the parameter wsrp_remote_portlet to the portlet instance and give it the value true. To add the parameter, from the product banner, select Administration and then choose Portlet Management -> Portlets, search for and select the portlet, click the Configure (wrench) icon, and follow the instructions on the page for adding a parameter. Due to current limitations, a WSRP Producer that hosts a remote mail portlet must be directly accessible by browser. If not, pop-up browser components used by the remote portlet, such as Spell Checker and the People Finder, will not work.
- The Producer is the server that hosts remote portlets and provides them as WSRP services. The Producer will host the remote mail portlet.
- The Consumer is the server that integrates remote portlets offered as WSRP services. The Consumer will display and allow end users to interact with the remote mail portlet.
