IBM z/OS: Increase the number of servant regions
On IBM z/OS the recommended approach for increasing performance and throughput in a vertical scaling topology is to increase the number of servant regions for the portal. This option is available even in a base application server node.
Before you increase the number of servant regions, read Multiple servant regions for more information about workload management and servant regions.
To increase the number of servant regions:
- Access the administrative console: http://dmgrhost:10040/admin
Servers | Application Servers | WebSphere_Portal | Server Infrastructure | Java and Process Management | Server Instance | Multiple Instances Enabled
- Set the Minimum number of Instances and Maximum number of Instances according to requirements.
- Click OK and save changes.
