Delete wikis

If you are the owner of a wiki site, you have Manager access and can delete any wiki or wiki pages on that site.

Wikis use the template libraries provided by IBMWeb Content Manager. To delete a wiki, delete the Web Content Viewer portlet and Web content mapping from the portal page where the content is rendered then delete the template library used to create the wiki.

  1. Log in to WebSphere Portal as an administrator.

  2. Delete the Web Content Viewer portlet or portal page.

When the wiki is created on the portal page a Web content mapping is set as a page property. If you plan to use this portal page for other content, delete the Web Content Viewer portlet and the Web content mapping. If you do not delete the Web content mapping, it will apply to any other Web Content Viewer portlets you add to this page. If you do not plan to use this portal page for other content, deleting the page also deletes the Web Content Viewer portlet and the Web content mapping.

      • To delete the Web Content Viewer portlet, do the following:

        1. Select Administration -> Portal User Interface -> Manage Pages.

        2. Click Edit Page Layout for the appropriate portal page.

        3. In the Content -> Edit Layout section, click the Portlet Menu for the Web Content Viewer portlet and select Delete portlet and click OK then Done.

        4. Click Edit Page Properties for the portal page.

        5. Expand Advanced options.

        6. In the Web Content Mappings section, click Delete for the Web content folder that corresponds to the wiki you plan to delete then click OK.

      • To delete the portal page, do the following:

        1. Select Administration -> Portal User Interface -> Manage Pages.

        2. Click Delete for the appropriate portal page then click OK.

  3. Delete the library that contains the wiki content.

    1. Select Administration -> Portal Content -> Web Content Libraries.

    2. Click Delete library for the appropriate library.
