AIX stand-alone: Create DB2 databases
You can create the DB2databases that are required by WebSphere Portal locally or remotely. When you create DB2 databases locally, you can create these databases using a configuration task or you can create these databases manually. When you create the DB2 databases remotely, you can only create the databases manually.

This section provides information on using ConfigEngine tasks to create databases when using a local DB2 installation. If you are using a remote DB2 installation, create databases manually and cannot create databases using the ConfigEngine task.
Create a remote or local DB2 database manuallyA remote database resides on a different system than WebSphere Portal. When you use a remote DB2 server, manually create the databases that are required by WebSphere Portal.
