Deploy the theme

  1. Open the WAS administration console and go to...

    Applications | Install New Application

  2. Navigate to the yourtheme.war file.

  3. Click Next.

  4. On the page...

    Select installation options

    ...click Next.

  5. On the Map modules to servers page, select the checkbox next to your module and then select your Portal server from the Clusters and servers box.

  6. Click Apply and then Next.

  7. Navigate to the Map context roots for Web modules page.

  8. Enter your theme name as the context root.

    For example, yourtheme. Click Next.

  9. Review the summary and click Finish.

  10. Click Save.

To verify that the application is running, from the admin console:

  1. Depending on your version of WAS, click the appropriate option:

    • For WAS v6.1:

      Click Applications > Enterprise Applications.

    • For WAS v7:

      Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications.

  2. Search for the new theme.

  3. Select the application and click Start. A message appears that the application was started successfully.
