Formatting an individual date or time entry

Use the Data Field Modifier builder to control the format of a specific Date, Time, or DateTime value. The Data Field Modifier builder operates on the variable you specify and converts values in that variable to the specified format.

  1. Open the Data Field Modifier builder call editor.

  2. Identify a variable in the model that holds date or time data.

  3. In the Formatter Class input select: StandardFormatter.

  4. For Format Expression select DateTime.

  5. Click OK to save the builder call.

  6. Run the model to see the specific Date/Time item identified by the variable in the format specified.

Note: If the model also contains a Data Page Formatter builder you do not need to disable it. This is one of the subtle differences between the Data Field Modifier and the Data Page Formatter. The Data Page Formatter changes the default date/time settings at the server, whereas the Data Field Modifier changes the date and time settings in the application. This is why the Data Field Modifier is able to override the Data Page Formatter settings.
