Deploying IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory-built WABs and other local updates directly to IBM Lotus Notes 8 standard clients

For provisioning the supplemental Web Translation bridge which is required for supporting dynamically generated JSP pages on the IBM® Lotus® Expeditor and IBM Lotus Notes® platforms, see the IBM Lotus Notes 8 support technote on how to provision IBM Lotus Notes 8 supplemental (optional) features. By default, IBM Lotus Notes 8 disables access to the Eclipse/IBM Lotus Expeditor Update Manager and expects update sites to be managed from the IBM Lotus Notes server side. See the IBM Lotus Notes 8 administration documentation for information about managing update sites.

For this reason, it may be difficult to install feature updates directly to IBM Lotus Notes 8 from a file based update site or from your own http url based update site.

For best results, you should test against a default IBM Lotus Expeditor installation during development and then move the WAB to IBM Lotus Notes 8 later in the process.
