Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

Building IBM WebSphere Portal composite applications and provisioning to IBM Lotus Expeditor/IBM Lotus Notes 8

One of the features of IBM® Lotus® Expeditor 6.1.1/IBM Lotus Notes® 8 is the ability to provision a Composite Application from WebSphere Portal (we recommend WP6.0.1 or later) to the XPD/IBM Lotus Notes platform IBM Lotus Expeditor/IBM Lotus Notes 8 installs with a WebSphere Portal update called NCI or SCI, which can be used to install Rich Client Platform administration portlets to your WebSphere Portal instance.

Once installed, these RCP admin portlets display in the tabs for Edit Layout of a Composite Application page, (next to the Wiring tab) and allow you to set information for each portlet, about what the Eclipse/OSGi Feature ID and Version are for the rich client bundle that implements that portlet, and related information.

If you set the Feature ID and Version in your WebSphere Portlet Factory Project Properties RCP dialog, then WebSphere Portal will populate those RCP administration settings by default. You may then view those settings in the RCP Admin portlet for your Composite Application's portlets, but you should not have to set them all manually, like you may have to for manually created portlets.
