Portlet Factory, Version 6.1.2

About opening a model

You can open a model from Project Explorer or the Model Navigator.

All existing models are stored in the IBM® WebSphere Portlet Factory WEB-INF/models directory. The Model Navigator presents a subset of the Project Explorer and facilitates easier access to your models and profiles.

  • When you open a model in WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer, its name is added to the MRU (most recently used) list at the bottom of the File menu. You can open that model in subsequent WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer sessions by clicking on its name.

  • You can also open a model from the Model Navigator view by doing one of the following actions.

    • Double-clicking its name.

    • Right-clicking its name and clicking Open.

When you open a model, WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer typically displays the following model-related panels.

Builder call list

Displayed in the Outline view, this list itemizes the builder calls for your model.

Model editor

The Editor area of the perspective provides access to models that are open of editing. For example, the Application Tree panel provides access to all the elements that builder calls have created and added to the model.
