Migrate deprecated portlets
Some previously available portlets have been removed from IBM WebSphere Portal V6.1 because alternative or newer functionality is available that use instead. If you migrate from an earlier portal installation that used these portlets, the portlets are migrated to provide backward compatibility, but they are treated as third-party portlets. Users are encouraged to transition to other available technology as appropriate.
- Deprecated business portlets
Some business portlets that were provided in earlier versions of IBM WebSphere Portal are deprecated in V6.1 because there are other portlets available that provide similar functionality.- Deprecated collaborative portlets
Some collaborative portlets that came with earlier versions of IBM WebSphere Portal are not provided in V6.1. These deprecated portlets include My Lotus QuickPlaces, Inline QuickPlace, Domino Document Manager, and Lotus Web Conferencing.- Migrating My Lotus QuickPlaces
My Lotus QuickPlaces, which was provided in earlier versions of IBM WebSphere Portal, is now available only by download from the WebSphere Portal Catalog. If you migrate from an earlier portal installation where My Lotus QuickPlaces was deployed, the earlier portlet is migrated to the new portal server. To upgrade the portlet, download the new portlet
