Install a Remote Web Content Viewer portlet

The Remote Web Content Viewer portlet is a rendering portlet for non-local content.

The remote rendering is installed just like any other portlet:

  1. Login to WebSphere Portal as an administrator.

  2. Go to...

Administration | Portlet Management | Web Modules | Install | Browse

  3. Select...

    portal_server_root/wcm/prereq.wcm/installableApps/ilwwcm-remoterendering-portlet.war

  4. Click...

    Open | Next | Finish

  5. Add the Remote Web Content Viewer portlet to a portal page.

Anonymous access

If a WCM Portlet needs to be accessed by anonymous users, then configure the Portal server to have anonymous sessions by setting public.session to true.

Edit mode configuration

Only a single instance of the Remote Web Content Viewer portlet can be deployed onto a server. The configuration mode settings for the portlet instance are used by default for each Remote Web Content Viewer portlet added to a page.

Initially all the portlets will display the same content. Use the edit mode to customize the configuration of each concrete instance.

All portlets share the same base configuration, each one can customized as required.
