Customize process integration
After working with portal-based business process applications, you might want to customize the process portal environment. You can customize the default configuration settings, the task pages, other pages of process integration, and Task List filters. You can also create virtual portals for process integration and extend the portal theme to help users manage pending tasks and task pages.
- Modifying process integration
If modify the default configuration of business process integration within the portal environment, you can perform some optional steps: Adjust the settings of the common process and task portlets that are provided by the automated setup task or edit the IBM WebSphere Portal Configuration Service, WP ConfigService, parameters for business process integration.- Work with task pages
IBM WebSphere Portal uses dynamic task pages that provide user interfaces in which the current states of the associated business processes are displayed. You can customize the default task page, add additional dedicated task pages as needed, and control how the portal redirects users to other pages when current tasks are completed and the task pages are closed.- Customizing process integration pages
You can customize the process integration pages that are automatically created during process integration enablement. You can also move the Task List portlet to other pages and control how users are redirected to other pages when they close their task pages.- Creating custom filters for tasks
You can customize the default filters for the Task List portlet. First, you should understand how the default filter sets and filters for tasks are specified for the Task List portlet. Then you can create additional task filter sets and filters that provide specialized views of tasks for users to apply in their particular work contexts.- Configure virtual portals for process integration
You can enable a virtual portal for business process integration by running a setup task or by manually creating the My Tasks page, placing the Task List portlet on this page, and specifying the parent page for the task pages that will open from within the virtual portal.- Customizing the process integration theme
You can customize your portal themes to contain links that alert users to pending tasks and that close task pages after a task has been completed. Use the portal-dynamicui:pendingTasks JSP tag to provide alert links to pending tasks. Use the portal-dynamicui:closePage JSP tag to provide special links that close individual task pages.
