Start the test

Once the heavy load test configuration is ready, it is necessary to check the validity of the test Virtual Users, as described in Check a Virtual User. When the Virtual Users consistency check is error-free, the true test can be started, as described in Start the test.

• Tip: It is strongly recommended to start a heavy load test with a ramp-up load policy to make sure the test can cope with an increasing load. See Load variation policy.

While running the test, it is necessary to check its performance with regular monitoring samples which help ensure that:

• the application infrastructure faces the load, and
• the Load Generators behave as expected.

If an issue occurs with the Load Generators, the test must be stopped. The Load Generators sizing must be checked and configured again, as described in Cloud credits only: Size Cloud Load Generators.
