Set up the Windows firewall
The NeoLoad Cloud Controller is protected by a Cloud firewall. Nevertheless, the following ports are kept open:
- Port 3389 RDP (Remote Desktop Connection)
- Port 4569 used by the on-premise Monitoring Agent to connect to the Controller (optional).
It is advised to restrain the usage of these services to the IPs by using Windows Firewall.
It is necessary to allow incoming connections for SSH on port 22 as it is used by Neotys for administrative access. SSH is restricted for Neotys IPs only by the Cloud firewall and is secured by password plus certificate-based authentication.
- To restrict the access to your IP address
- Click Start > Configuration Panel > Administrative Tools > Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
- In the left panel, click Inbound Rules.
- In the rules list, locate Scroll to Remote Desktop (TCP-in).
- Right click it and choose Properties.
- Select the Scope tab.
- In the Remote IP Address section, add the allowed IP address.
- Click OK.
- In the rules list, locate NeoLoad – Monitoring Agent Connection (TCP-in).
- Perform steps 4 to 7.
If the Remote Desktop Connection to the NeoLoad Cloud Controller is lost because of an incorrect firewall rule, contact Neotys Support.
