Workspaces roles

The following workspaces roles are supported by WebSphere Commerce:

The following table describes each role and the business model each role can work within.

Role Description Business model
Workspace Manager The Workspace Manager is responsible for and has authority over the entire workspace. This role does the following:

  • creates workspaces

  • create task groups

  • creates tasks

  • assigns Workspace Content Contributors

  • assigns Task Group Approvers

The Site Administrator also has all the authorities of this role

  • Consumer direct

  • B2B direct

  • Demand chain

  • Extended sites

  • Supply chain

Workspace Task Group Approver The Task Group Approver is responsible for approving the content created by the content contributors for the task group. For example, if the task group involves preparing the text and images for a new product, the product manager can be the Task Group Approver

  • Consumer direct

  • B2B direct

  • Demand chain

  • Extended sites

  • Supply chain

Workspace Content Contributor The Workspace Content Contributor is responsible for completing tasks assigned by the workspace manager.

The following roles also have the authorities of the Workspace Content Contributor:

  • Category Manager

  • Marketing Manager

  • Product Manager

The Demand chain, Supply chain and Extended sites business models do not provide the Product Manager role. For these business models use the Category Manager role instead.
