Process: Set up reseller catalog
Flow
![]()
Objective
To modify the catalog in accordance with the product strategy that has been defined in the product strategy document. This includes adding products to the catalog, managing the product lifecycle for those products, and filtering out unwanted products.
Description
Once the product and marketing strategies are defined, it is necessary to implement them in the online store. The catalog for a reseller store is based on the manufacturer's master catalog. Resellers have the ability to import their own products, or to filter out manufacturer products that they don't want shown in their store. The sales progress of the store is also closely monitored for performance against sale objectives and feedback for changes. This continuous monitoring process loop is designed to ensure that an organization does not become stagnant nor lose sight of changes in the environment that could be detrimental to its long term success. This process facilitates a leading edge approach to enabling long term success. This process is designed to ensure the organization is continuously identifying opportunities and generating options. Finally, as opportunities are identified in the process loop, the entire process is set in motion again to ensure that the organizations product and marketing objectives are continuously in line with changes to the environment.
