Start the WAS subsystem (i5/OS system)

The WAS subsystem must be started to ensure that your WebSphere Commerce instance and associated application server starts successfully.

Your user profile must have *JOBCTL authority to start the WAS subsystem.

To start the WAS subsystem:

  1. Start Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by running the following from a command line: STRTCP

  2. Start the subsystem by running the following from a command line: STRSBS SBSD(QWAS6/QWAS6).

  3. Use the WRKACTJOB command to ensure the QWAS6 subsystem is active.

Ending the QWAS6 subsystem

In order to end the QWAS6 subsystem, all the WebSphere Commerce instances, WebSphere Commerce Payments instances, and non-default WAS applications must be stopped. Refer to Start and stop an application server on i5/OS. To ensure that all jobs have stopped, enter the following at the command line:

WRKACTJOB SBS(QWAS6)

The subsystem will be displayed and no other jobs should be active within the subsystem.

You can now proceed to end the QWAS6 subsystem by entering the following at the command line:

ENDSBS QWAS6
