community.general.ohai - Returns inventory data from Ohai

This plugin is part of the community.general collection (version 1.3.2).

To install it use: ansible-galaxy collection install community.general.

To use it in a playbook, specify: community.general.ohai.

Synopsis

• Similar to the community.general.facter module, this runs the Ohai discovery program (//docs.chef.io/ohai.html) on the remote host and returns JSON inventory data. Ohai data is a bit more verbose and nested than facter.

The below requirements are needed on the host that executes this module.

# Retrieve (ohai) data from all Web servers and store in one-file per host
ansible webservers -m ohai --tree=/tmp/ohaidata
