Sets and custom properties

Settings are properties that we can configure using the administrative console, configuration files, or by other means. Look up settings by the name of the console page that contains the settings we are viewing, or by the general type of settings that we want to configure, such as those for the 'Web server plug-in.' Custom properties are special, "write in" settings. They are name-value pairs that we can enter on specific console pages.
