Enable PMI using the console

Overview

When PMI service is enabled, the monitoring of individual components can be enabled or disabled dynamically.

To monitor performance data through the Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI), first enable PMI through the administrative console.

 

Procedure

  1. Open the console.

  2. Click...

    Servers | Application Servers | server | Configuration tab | Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) | Enable Performance Monitoring Infrastructure (PMI) check box

  3. Optionally, select the check box...

    Use sequential counter updates

    ...to enable precise statistic update.

  4. Optionally, choose a statistic set that needs to be monitored under...

    Currently Monitored Statistic Set

  5. Optionally, click on Custom to selectively enable or disable statistics. Choose a component from the left side tree and enable or disable statistics on the right side table. Go back to the main PMI configuration page by clicking the Performance Monitoring Infrastructure link.

  6. Click Apply or OK.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Restart the appserver. The changes you make will not take effect until you restart the appserver.

When in the Configuration tab, settings apply after the server is restarted.
