We can set portal service configuration properties by using the administrative console.

For a list of the portal configuration services refer to Overview of portal configuration services. For information about the portal configuration services and their properties refer to Portal configuration services.

To set portal configuration service properties...

  1. Use the appropriate console, depending on the portal environment:

    • If the portal is running standalone, use the local administrative console.

    • If the portal is installed in a cluster, use the console of the Deployment Manager.

  2. Start the administrative console by entering the following in the location bar of a Web browser:

    http://example.com:admin_port/ibm/console

  3. In the navigation open the Resources section by clicking the plus ( + ) sign.

  4. Click...

Resources | Resource Environment Providers | service | Custom Properties

In the list the portal services are preceded by a prefix that is made up of the letters WP and a blank, for example WP ConfigService.

  5. Click Custom Properties.

  6. Do one of the following as required:

    • Select a property and change its value.

    • Select one or more properties for removal.

    • Create a new property. If you create a new property, use java.lang.String as its type and do not mark the property as required. Otherwise you will not be able to delete it later.

  7. When you are done, click Save at the top of the screen under Message(s).

  8. Click Save again when prompted to confirm the changes.

  9. If the portal runs in a cluster configuration, replicate the changes to the cluster.

  10. Restart the portal to make the changes become effective.
