Overview

Enable workflow for the Document Manager portlet instance so that users can approve review documents.

Before you enable the draft approvals workflow for Document Manager, confirm that the portal and Document Manager portlet meet the following criteria:

  • Access has been assigned to the users who will approve documents:

    • Users must have access to...

      • The document library
      • Portal Content page
      • Document Libraries portlet.

    • Users who are reviewers have been added to the Document Reviewer user group.

    • Users who are reviewers have the Editor role on documents they will review.

    • Users who are reviewers have User access in a group to which the author of a reviewed document belongs. The author might belong to multiple groups. The reviewer needs User access to only one of the groups to which the author belongs.

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server security is enabled. The draft approvals option is only available if security is enabled on the portal.

 

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Document Libraries page.

  2. Find the document library for which you want to enable the draft approvals process.

  3. Click the edit icon next to the document library.

  4. In the Edit Library window. click Enable workflow.

  5. Select the appropriate approver group.

  6. Save the settings.
