The Common Mail portlet can connect to a Domino, Exchange, or Yahoo mail server over the POP3 protocol.

For Exchange mail servers, use the Configure command (from the drop-down menu in the portlet title bar) to specify settings for the mail server.

For Domino and Yahoo mail servers, users click Edit Mail Source in their portlet's preferences page and specify the fully qualified host names of the mail server and outgoing mail server. For example, to connect to a Yahoo server, a user might enter pop.mail.yahoo.com for the mail server, and smtp.mail.yahoo.com for the outgoing mail server. For Domino, the name is the same for both the mail server and outgoing mail server.

Users must have an internet address and an internet password, and must provide the necessary mail account information in their mail portlet's preferences page.

The POP3 protocol does not support folders in the Inbox.
