Set up V6 coexistence
This task describes how to install a V6 product to coexist with concurrent V6.0 profiles.
Before you begin
After installing the WAS product, one can install it again on the same machine.
Overview
Select the new installation option from the installation wizard panel, to install a new instance instead of adding features to the last installation, and to install into a separate profile directory.Each installation of the product installs the core product files.
We can install once and use the Profile creation wizard to create multiple Application Server processes. See Using the Profile creation wizard for more information about creating multiple server instances.
Use the following procedure to install multiple copies of the core product files.
Procedure
- Use the installation wizard to install another set of the core product files, as described in Installing the product and additional software.
- Create additional server processes, using the procedure described in Using the Profile creation wizard.
- If you have a node that one cannot start because of port conflicts, change port assignments to non-conflicting ports in configuration files by editing the profile\config\cells\cell\nodes\node\serverindex.xml file.
