Rules

Rules are used to define how your Web site interacts with individual and groups of Web site visitors. Rules are composed of easy-to-read logic statements that, in their final form, specify how to evaluate various conditions and what actions to take based on those conditions.

New or updated rules must be mapped to a content spot and published to a run-time environment (such as a publish server) to go into effect.

A Personalization run-time server may support multiple projects. Rules in different projects may have the same name but have different functions. By using a scope ID, you can prevent the unintentional overwriting of similarly named rules and campaigns when publishing to the run-time environment. You can also use scope IDs to facilitate the use of rules and campaigns across projects by creating a scope ID that spans multiple projects.
