Section 1 - Installing and Configuring WebSphere Portal V5 (15%)

  1. Select correct components for installation based on the architected solution
  2. Describe the contents of the initial Portal V5 install
  3. Use different methods to configure any preinstalled components (such as wpsconfig or Configuration Wizard) to support the architected solution
  4. Build response files and complete silent installation
  5. Use and implement configuration templates
  6. Utilize both graphical user interface and command line tools to conduct install implementations
  7. Understand the use of the portal property files and wpsconfig commands
  8. Understand installation options (e.g., archive, custom, and component)

 

Section 2 - Architecting a Portal Solution (14%)

  1. Identify components of the current infrastructure that require integration
  2. Utilize out-of-the-box-portlets and the portlet catalog
  3. Administer parallel portlet rendering
  4. Understand and implement clustering (horizontal and vertical)-Installation to Federated Nodes
  5. Design end-to-end portal architecture using best practices
  6. Understand and implement Virtual Portals
  7. Use collaborative portal components

 

Section 3 - Implementing and Administering Portal Security (18%)

  1. Establish and administer single sign-on realms (e.g., LTPA and credential vaults)
  2. Modify default passwords for WebSphere Portal and related components
  3. Enable SSL between components
  4. Manage user registries [include custom registries via WebSphere Member Manager]
  5. Integrate external security managers for authentication and authorization (e.g., Tivoli Access Manager and Netegrity Site Manager)
  6. Administer Portal roles and authorization
  7. Implement multiple realms
  8. Establish LDAP authentication mode (i.e., Database only, database and LDAP, or custom registry)

 

Section 4 - Customizing and Administering Pages (16%)

  1. Describe possibilities of branding (e.g., skins, themes, etc.)
  2. Customize and administer portal navigation and page hierarchy
  3. Configure page layouts
  4. Use xmlaccess to manage pages
  5. Implement custom unique names
  6. Implement URL mapping
  7. Select proper ways to backup and restore themes and skins
  8. Export and import page hierarchy
  9. Use the portal scripting interface to administer portals
  10. Understand business process integration concepts

 

Section 5 - Configuring and Maintaining Portlets (12%)

  1. Install, update and delete portlet applications
  2. Copy portlets and portlet applications
  3. Understand concept of portlets, portlet apps, concrete portlets, concrete portlet apps, concrete portlet instance and user portlet instance [and JSR168]
  4. Manage portlet data and portlet application parameters
  5. Develop and maintain web clipping
  6. Configure cooperative portlets
  7. Configure Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP)

 

Section 6 - Maintenance and Troubleshooting (20%)

  1. Utilize log files in the trouble shooting process of product stack problems
  2. Enable tracing and analyze the results for portal components
  3. Describe migration options from WebSphere Portal V4 to WebSphere Portal V5.1
  4. Use xmlaccess and JACL to export, import and update configurations
  5. Manage the portal using WebSphere Portal config tool (wpsconfig)
  6. Diagnose installation and configuration problems.
  7. Utilize ReleaseBuilder Tool to manage WebSphere portal updates
  8. Manage portal clusters (e.g., maintenance of infrastructure, production portals, etc.)
  9. Manage virtual portals
  10. Maintain portal in a production environment

 

Section 7 - Content Management and Integration (5%)

  1. Configure and administer portal search engines
  2. Administer personalization
  3. Administer document libraries within Portal Document Manager (PDM)
