Import files to a document library

Overview

You can import files into a document library from the following locations:

  • Server file system
  • Client file system
  • Web site (HTTP import)

When importing files from the server system or a Web site (HTTP import), you can specify when you want the import process to occur.

 

Import Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Manage Document Libraries page.
  2. Click the import icon next to the document library where you want to import files.
  3. Choose the location and specify the options for the import process.
  4. Click OK to start the import process, or click Cancel to return to the Import files to document library page.

Note that once you click OK to start importing files, you cannot interrupt the process.
