Tivoli Access Manager and WebSphere Portal
Overview
This section provides information for configuring IBM Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) and WebSEAL for use with WebSphere Portal. Use TAM to perform authentication only, or to perform both authentication and authorization for the portal. Using TAM to perform only authorization is not supported at this time.
Perform any configuration for an external security manager AFTER you have completed all other setup tasks, including ensuring that the WebSphere Portal cluster is functional.
You can configure TAM for authentication, authorization, and the vault adapter all at once, or, if you prefer, you can use shorter, separate procedures to configure TAM to perform each of these functions:
- Configure TAM
- Configure TAM to perform authentication only
- Configure TAM to perform authorization only
- Configure vault adapter for TAM
