Resource adapter archive file
A Resource Adapter Archive (RAR) file is a JAR file used to package a resource adapter for the J2C Architecture.
A RAR file can contain the following:
- Enterprise information system supplied resource adapter implementation code in the form of JAR files
- Utility classes.
- Static documents, such as HTML files, images, and sound files.
- J2C common client interfaces, such as cci.jar.
The standard file extension of a RAR file is .rar.
In the Assembly Toolkit, RAR files are called connectors.
