External cache group settings

To configure sets of external caches controlled by WAS on Web servers, such as IBM Edge Server and IBM HTTP Server.

To view this administrative console page, click Servers > Application Server > server > Dynamic Cache Service > External Cache groups > external_cache_group.

Name

Specifies the external cache group name. The external cache group name needs to match the externalcache property as defined in the servlet or JSP (JSP) cachespec.xml file. When external caching is enabled, the cache matches pages with its URIs and pushes matching pages to the external cache. The entries can then be served from the external cache, instead of the appserver. This ability creates a significant savings in performance.
