User name element

A user name element displays the current user's name in a presentation template, component design or element design. To use a user name element, create a user name component. You cannot add a user name element to an authoring template, site, site area or content item.

 

Creating a user name element

You can only use a user name element by creating a user name component. You cannot add a user name element to authoring templates, sites, site areas or content items.

 

Using a user name element

There are two element designs:

Anonymous user design

This is used when an anonymous user accesses a Web site. You must select "Display Anonymous" to enable the Anonymous user design. If "Display Anonymous" is not selected, the User name element will not be rendered when an anonymous user accesses a Web site.

User name design

This is displayed when an authenticated users accesses a Web site. You use a placeholder tag with a value of "name" in the user name design to display the name. For example:
<placeholder tag="name" start="Welcome " end=" to this Site" />
To display the distinguished name of a user, use tag="dn".
